Qatar’s Taameer Group has announced the signing of a new acquisition agreement with Qetaifan Projects, a developer of the northern island of Qetaifan, which will acquire an additional group of land on the high-rise southern side to develop real estate projects worth more than QAR 1.4 billion, in a move that enhances the group’s investment presence on the island and confirms its confidence in the future of the Qatari real estate market and its growth opportunities.
The agreement is an extension of the strategic cooperation between the two sides, which witnessed the acquisition of a group of lands by Taameer Group to develop an integrated destination called Canal by District, where the group began development work and launched a number of its residential, hotel and commercial projects, according to Al-Sharq Qatar.

New five-star hotel project
The destination also includes Canal Walk, a 580-meter-long western waterfront walkway (Jableh) that combines hiking, shopping, restaurants, cafes and leisure facilities, along with the Canal Residence project, the Carlton House project, which includes a hotel and hotel apartments, and apartments with a distinctive hotel brand.
The Group is preparing to unveil a new five-star hotel project, with a prestigious international hotel brand, as part of its drive to attract international brands, and to strengthen the status of Canal by District as a destination that combines high-end housing, hospitality, shopping and entertainment. Taameer Group intends to reveal the details of its new projects to be developed on the acquired land in the coming days, ahead of the launch of the fourth edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum - Cityscape Qatar 2026, as part of its plan to provide new housing and investment opportunities for the market.
