Dar Global Capital Partners, the alternative asset management arm of Dar Global, has announced that it is considering launching a dedicated investment fund to capture real estate opportunities in Dubai, as part of a strategy to leverage capital in the Gulf, UK, Europe and the United States markets.
The company said in a press statement seen by the "Masdar Real Estate" platform that the potential fund comes within the direction of linking institutional and private capital to real estate investment opportunities. It did not specify the size, launch date or types of assets it would focus on.
The company operates from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) under the license of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and aims to provide asset management and investment advisory solutions to sovereigns, institutional investors and high net worth individuals.
Its investment instruments include equity and financing through loans and other financial instruments, while its strategy focuses on assessing investment entry rates, structuring deals to reduce the risk of potential losses, repositioning assets and improving their operational performance.
In conjunction with this trend, the company announced the appointment of Ziad Al-Shaar, CEO of Global House, as its Chairman, to support the strategic alignment between the Group’s real estate development activities and its asset management platform.
Al-Shaar said that Dar Global serves investors from more than 125 nationalities, and that the company seeks through the asset management arm to provide real estate investment opportunities in the global markets through a regulated and licensed platform, pointing to Dubai as one of the target destinations for the employment of capital.
According to the statement, the total development value of the portfolio of the projects of Dar Global, listed on the London Stock Exchange, is about $ 23 billion. The Group specializes in the development of luxury residential properties, along with its expansion into the hospitality sector.
