The Infrastructure Projects Center in Riyadh revealed that 60 days remain to be implemented for the mandatory technical accreditation of contractors carrying out the infrastructure works, which enters into force from 1 January 2027, making obtaining technical accreditation from the center a mandatory prerequisite for the conduct of infrastructure projects in the region.
The application of technical accreditation comes within the framework of the Center's efforts to raise the efficiency of the system of implementing infrastructure projects and enhance the readiness of establishments operating in the sector, through the application of unified standards that ensure that contractors have the capabilities and capabilities necessary to carry out the work efficiently, and in accordance with the requirements of quality, safety and sustainability.
The Center pointed out that the technical accreditation is based on an integrated evaluation system to measure the efficiency of the executing facilities and their readiness, by verifying their technical and operational capabilities, financial stability, and professional expertise, which contributes to aligning the capabilities of contractors with the nature of projects and the requirements of their implementation, and improving the level of performance in the sector, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA)
He pointed out that the evaluation criteria are divided into three main axes, including technical and operational capabilities (55%), financial stability (25%) and professional experience record (20%), allowing a comprehensive evaluation that reflects the efficiency of the facilities and their ability to comply with the approved requirements.
The Center called on the contractors implementing the infrastructure work to initiate the completion of the technical accreditation requirements before the date of its mandatory implementation, stressing that this step contributes to enhancing the reliability of implementation, reducing operational risks, raising the quality of projects and the sustainability of infrastructure assets, in order to support the development of the sector and contribute to improving the quality of life in Riyadh.
